the Paragraph group, and then click on the pane that shows the numbering you
want. Once you have applied it, you can go back and use Define New

Thanks much for the additional instructions. However, I remember how easy it was to construct an outline in an earlier version of Windows Word, most likely
the 2003 version. Is it possible to down load the 2003 version, in which
case I will have both versions on my HP Pavilion desk top ( 64 bit )
