A protected form must be protected to work properly. The only reason for
unprotecting it is not to "enter data in grayed-out boxes" (form fields) but
to edit the part of the form that stays the same (where users *don't* enter
data).

In my old version of Word, I could download a form, save as, go to tools
and
click uptortected Doc - this would allow me to enter data in grayed-out
boxes
on the form. Now we have Word 2007 and I can't figure out how to do this.
Please help.
