Default Page breaks on screen don't match those on printed page

Sometimes in a long or complex document I notice that updating is sluggish
(especially in Normal view). I imagine this reflects Word's load on the
processor/RAM/video driver.

Changes to page breaks resulting from inserting text or blank lines don't
always show on the screen. This didn't happen in Word 2000. How can I

get
the page breaks to update as I add text or lines. (These ARE NOT manually
inserted page breaks). Thanks!
