Look under your Start menu (All) Programs Microsoft Office Microsoft
Office Tools for Document Imaging. (I found this using help looking for
optical character; I haven't used it myself. I use the PaperPort software
that came with my scanner.)

When I had word 2000 there was a button on the file menu called "aquire
text." It controled a scanner and used the OCR software to imput the text
into the doccument. When I upgraded to Word 2003 (for students & teachers)
this function was unavailable. Please Help Me. Thanks in advance Samuel
Wyld.
