Default Headers & Page margins

Hi Jackie

I think you're on the right track. However, if Word detects content in a
header or footer that won't fit in the space you've allowed, it stretches
the space (rather than trucating the content). It will stretch headers down
into the space you kept for the body of the document, and stretch footers
up.

So maybe you have some content in the footer. Click the ¶ button on the
toolbar. That will display non-printing characters including a ¶ sign at the
end of every paragraph. Maybe you have a whole lot of empty paragraphs in
the footer. If so, delete them.

Once you do get it working, beware of the limits of your printer. See the
following for more details:
The bottoms of my pages don't print

Hope this helps.

Sorry if this is a ridiculously basic question but ...
Can anyone explain the relationship between Header
margins and page margins?

I would like to use as much of an A4 page for printing as
I can. So I changed the top and bottom page margins to 2
cm & reduced the header & Footer from 1.97 cm to 1 cm.

The result is that the bottom margins now appear to be 5
cm wide thereby defeating the object of messing with the
margins.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
