Default Word 2007 TOCs Bookmarks

Or to clarify: the absence or presence of *spaces* is crucial.

Indeed, the spacing might be crucial with Word fields.

Try { TOC \o "1-3" \b bookmark-name } or
{ TOC \b bookmark-name \o "1-3" }

Thank you SO MUCH, Stefan. Just one more question and then I think I am
set... the TOC field code...if i want to restrict the TOC to the first
3
levels and reference the bookmark, do I write it as"

{ TOC \o "1-3"\b bookmark-name }

OR

{ TOC \b bookmark-name\o "1-3" }

I have tried both and only get the first line of the TOC generated.

The problem is the text box. Place the TOC field inside, say, a table
cell
instead.

I am creating a chaptered manual and at the start of each chapter I
would
like to have a separate Table of Contents. I have used the Heading
styles
to
format my chapters (Heading1, Heading2, Heading3).

According to a tutorial I found through the on-line Help, I should be
able
to select all of the text in a chapter and assign it a bookmark name.
Then
at the location where I want the TOC for that chapter to appear, I
press
CTRL+F9 and enter TOC \b bookmark-name (between the squiggly
brackets).
I
did this for my first chapter and it worked, but I cannot get it to
work
for
subsequent chapters. Am I doing somthing wrong? If possible, I
would
prefer
to use the bookmark method to generate multiple TOCs as opposed to
using
the
TC field code for each heading.

I am trying to do this inside a text box.

Please advise. All help is greatly appreciated.
