Yes. As you have found, Design Science provide a free 'Lite' version of
MathType which in Word is called Equation Editor v 3.0.

Can anyone recommend a substitute for MS equation 3.0? This add-on works
but it's just too primitive (i.e., too many button clicking to create
each tiny part of an equation).
I faintly remember that a long time ago, I used another equation "maker"
(that was not as click-intensive as MS equation) and then just copy
pasted the equation into MS word. I don't rmember the name of the
program anymore.
