Default Space changed to period

You want to display the non-printing characters...

Click on the ShowAll command button the pilcrow which looks like a reversed
double P on he standard toolbar or use Ctrl+Shift+8.

Not exactly right. Somewhere in Word 2003, there'a an option to display
(and print) all spaces between words with periods - actually not a period,
but a dot, situated vertically midway between the top and bottom of the
text characters.

It's a simple switch which toggles the spce character on and off and does
so without find/replace.

If you are truly talking about converting a space to a period, use find
and replace. If you are talking about being able to see your non-printing
characters, hit the ¶ button.

I forgot how to make the space character a period and vice-versa. Please
advise.
