Default The crossways lines on tables no longer adjust

You are probably in Normal View. Switch to Print Layout View and you should
be able to use that method to adjust the row height.

I am accustomed to being able to adjust the horizontal lines in tables -
you
hover the mouse pointer over the line, and when it changes to a couple of
short horizontal lines, you click and hold down, and drag it where you
want.
But now that's stopped working. I hover the mouse over the line, and it
just
stays in the shape of a pointer.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that I just went to Format -
Borders and Shading - and said 'None' to get rid of some pesky double
lines
reaching across the page?

Thanks in advance
