Default HELP! Using Word INSERT BOOKMARKS and Hyperlinks

I'm using Word 2003, SP3. Also, if it is of any use, the two documents are
located in the same folder on a SharePoint 2007 system.

Using Shift F9, the links look good (the "\" refers to the correct Bookmark).

I've retried the test and find that sometimes the links work as I want them
to and other times they do not. A colleague performed the test a number of
times and consistently failed.

I have 2 Word Documents.

Document #1 is a pseudo "Help" file. It consists of a number of tables,
each table starting on a separate page. Also, each table has a unique
bookmark (e.g., HE_01, HE_02, etc.)

Document #2 is a typical Word document. However, occasionally I have
inserted a Question Mark picture icon. Each icon is linked to a bookmarked
table in Document #1 using the INSERT HYPERLINK commands.

THE PROBLEM: I load Document #2 and do a CTRL-Click on one of the icons.
Document #1 opens and I am positioned at the correct bookmark. I go back to
Document #2 (without closing Document #1), go to another icon and do a
CTRL-Click. I am taken back to Document #1 but am still at the last bookmark
I previously was taken to. I want to go to a different bookmark.

I've checked that the bookmakr names are unique in Document #1 and that the
links in Document #2 reference the correct Document #1 bookmark.

Please help!

What Word version?
In have just recreated your situation and, here rigth now, it works
flawlessly (Word 2003, SP3).

Can you select the first hyperlink, do SHIFT-F9 to disdplay the field codes
and post that code here? The do F9 to toggle back to the field value. Do the
same with the next two hyperklinks so we can compare content.
