You can add the "Style" dropdown list and "Modify Style" button to a
toolbar by clicking on Tools | Customize | Commands, select "Format"
under Categories, and drag the two commands from the Command list to the
desired position on your toolbar. After you do this, if you are
prompted to save your Normal.dot global template when you exit Word, say
yes.

In Word 2000 it is possible to open the Style dialogue directly from a
toolbar button. This dialogue shows styles in a plain, unformatted list. You
can select styles from here and open the Modify Styles dialoge. Does the
Style dialogue still exist in Word 2003, or is the formatted list in the Task
Pane the only way to select styles or to gain access the the Modify Styles
dialogue? If the Style dialogue does exist, how do I get to it?
