Pressing reset will 'uncustomise' the toolbars and menus. It won't change
any commands at all. If Reset sorted out your problem, somehow the command
must have been removed.

: The fix for this (and then maybe someone can explain what happened).
:
: In order to fix the problem you need to go Tools/Customize, select the
Menu
: Bar (in the Toolbar Tab) and then click Reset. Say OK to the message that
: you will get. This will reset the toolbar to Words Native functionality.
: Close Word and Reopen it and it will then add all other customization back
: to word.

: I think you have slightly misunderstood. I'll explain. In Word, there is
a
: built in command InsertFile. If a user wants to modify the action of a
: built
: in command, you write a macro and give it the same name as an internal
: command - in this case, InsertFile.
:
: When this is done, the custom macro command will be found listed under
: Tools, Macros. If it isn't listed, then the command hasn't been
modified.
: To
: see the list of Word's actual Commands, Go to Tools, Macros and in the
: Macros In... box, choose Word Commands. You will find InsertFile listed
: there.
:
: As there is no custom InsertFile, Suzanne's alternative solution is most
: likely. Are you using Norton Anti Virus?
