Hi ?B?TGluZGFN?=,

We produce a monthly report in Word, using data from an Access dbase, usually
with no problems. Since last month we have changed Pounds to Euros in the
dbase, but Word continues to insert £ instead of ‚¬. We can find no trace of £
anywhere in the dbase or in the Word macros we use for formatting Any idea
what's happening and how to stop it?

You should really post this in the word.mailmerge.fields newsgroup, where your more
likely to encounter people who deal with this (and a much lower volume of messages,
so it's more likely to be seen). WHen you repost there, be sure to mention the
VERSION of Word and of Access you use.

My best guess would be that the connection method you're using to pass the data from
Access to Word doesn't recognize Unicode symbols in this range. The other
possibility, if you're still seeing £, is that there are number formats in the merge
fields. Press Alt+F9 in the main merge document and check if there aren't £ symbols
in the field codes that are normally hidden.
