Open the normal.dotm template as you would open a document, for example, by
searching for it in Windows Explorer (make sure to look for hidden files and
folders) and then right-clicking the file, choosing Open from the context
menu. Then, on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon, click Columns, and click
"One." Save and close the file.
