Default Word count in footer?

Hi Noz,

Not with any built-in functionality. Word does have a NUMWORDS field, but that only gives the Word count for the whole document.

You could use some vba to create a set of custom document properties to hold the word counts for each page, but you'd have to re-run
it every time you edit the document to keep an accurate count. The issue you'll then face with placing these values in the footer is
that, by design, footers tend to replicate on all pages in the same Section. To have unique footers on each page, without requiring
each page to be delimited by a Section break, would entail some relatively complex field coding.

Cheers

Many thanks
