Thanks Paul,

Yes, Word 2003. Following your instructions, it changes a single instance
of the displayed text, not univerally in the document.

Find/Replace will not find the "[Organization Name]" so I thinks it's not
really text.
"[Organization Name]" also has a gray background.

Right clicking then selecting edit field opens a dialog box titled "Field"
and tells me that I'm looking at the Field named MacroButton which will run a
macro named DoFieldClick. The current document does not include and macro
similar to that name nor does the original "Employment Manual outline.dot"
from Microsoft.

Can you tell me what am I looking at and how to use it. Instinct tells me
that it is very simple, just I've never seen it before. It looks very useful
and I'd like to be able to use it in the future.

thanks again.

Which version of Word?

In Word 2003
Try Right Clicking on the [Organization Name] select edit field then in the
dialog box you can change the info as necessary.

Really great templates at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...s/default.aspx but what is the
name
of the object(?) that looks like it is set up to be changed universally in
a
document?

For instance, the Employee Manual Outline at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...CT061995211033
includes many instances of "[Organization Name]. "

How do you change this?

thanx
