Default word should allow bullets to be used as check boxes

See http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Add_Toggle_Objects.htm for something
similar to what you are asking for.

When you create a list using bullet points (and perhaps even

numbers) in
Word, each type of bullet symbol should have a pair symbol that the

user
could toggle between with a single left-click. For example this

would enable
the following:
With a list created using wingding's symbol 168 (an empty square)

when the
user left-clicks on the symbol for a particular line, it would

switch to
wingding's symbol 254 (a square box with a check mark in it).
Perhaps you could as many symbols as you like to rotate through.

For
example a third click will then turn it into a wingding's symbol 253

(a
square with a cross in it).
For numbered lists a single-click might underline or place a circle

around
the number or place a strike through it.
This would enable users to use this for preparing basic to-do lists.
