Default Office assistant question

Those who have never had a migraine headache cannot fully appreciate how
good it feels when a migraine headache stops.

I've noticed in my 2007 Word there is no office assistant, either it
didn't get installed or it doesn't have it.
Previously, in oder versions, the office assistant would pop up, like a
little paper clip, asking me.."I see you are writing a letter, would you
like help with that?"

NO!!!! Go away you stupid talking paper clip!

I know you could disable it and I would now and then, but seems like
it would always come back. I finally changed it to a red smiley face which
wasn't quite so bad and I could throw it across the screen when it got in my
way.

This assumes you actually want an Office Assistant. I have been using
Office 2003 for years and have never had one installed. There's a Help
setting somewhere to disable it (a toggle on the Help menu, for one).

In Control Panel, click on Add/Remove Programs, then click on Microsoft
Office 2003, and then click on the Change button.

Click on Add or Remove Features, Next.

Click on Choose Advanced Customization of applications, Next.

Click on the + next to Office Shared Features to expand it.

Click on Office Assistant to expand it.

To install all of the characters, click the arrow next to Office
Assistant and choose Run All from My Computer. Otherwise, you can pick
and choose. When you've finished making your selection, click on Update
and follow the prompts.

I just downloaded Word 2003 on to my new Dell Laptop with XP
Professional.
Occasionally when I open a Word document, new or otherwise, I get the
following window message: "There are no office assistant character
files
present on the system. Pleas run Setup in maintenance mode and install
at
least one character."

What is this about and how can I fix it? I did some exploration trying
to
take care of the problem with no luck.

Thanks
