The default shortcut for all caps formatting is Ctrl+Shift+A, so
that's probably what you hit by mistake.

There are several ways to turn it off, both for text you already typed
and for new text. Select the existing text and/or the character or
paragraph mark to the right of the cursor. Then do one of these:

- Press Ctrl+Shift+A again. It's an on/off toggle.
- Right-click, select Font to open the Font dialog, and uncheck the
All Caps box. Click OK.
- Press Ctrl+D, which opens the same Font dialog.
- Press Ctrl+spacebar, which removes any font formatting that isn't
part of the current style. That includes All Caps.
- On the Home ribbon, in the Font group, click the Clear Formatting
button (the last one in the top row), which does the same as
Ctrl+spacebar.
