Default Headers and page numbers

If you want the page numbers to appear in the Table of Contents, then you
will need to have a Section Break before the letter and With the selection
is that section, access the Headers and Footers toolbar, insert the Page
number field where you want it. Click on the Format page numbers button and
set the numbering to start at 1, then click on the Page Setup button and on
the Layout tab, check the different first page box.

I have a document with a cover page, followed by the table of contents, a
letter, and then the beginning of my text. I'm trying in the header to
find a
way to have the letter be page 1 and the first page of the text page 2,
with
the rest filling automatically. However, I don't want the letter to show
the
page number.

So far, all I've been able to figure out is to make the table of contents
to
be page number 1, but I want it to start one page later.

Can someone please help?
Thanks.
