Default Occurrences of a given word?

In Word 2002 and above, it's even easier--no "replacement" required. There's
a check box in the Find dialog to "Highlight all items found." When you Find
All, Word tells you how many were found (and they are selected).

Use replace to search for the word - replace it with ^& (the found word)
and the number of replacements is the number of occurrences.

Is there a method in Word 2000 of showing *the number of times* a
given word is found (under Find, or elsewhere)?
