E.g. for 10 to the 2nd power:

Type the number 10. Immediately after the number 10:
Use Insert Field Equations and formulas
Select Eq
Under Options, select \S() and click Add to field.
Type the power of ten you want (for the 2nd power you should have EQ \S(2)
in the box)
Click OK

To move the location of the power higher, use:
EQ \S\upX(2), where X is the points up (default is 2)

If you want the text smaller, select the field and change via Format Font.

You can right click the field and click Toggle field codes to edit (or
select the field and click Shift + F9
