There are two issues he
1 - is the compatibility issue raised by Amedee. Only Acrobat 5 & 6
are compatible and you need the appropriate updates from Adobe.
2 - 2000 and 2003 use different Office add-in folders. Word 2003
will not see files in the 2000 startup folder. Check the add-in is
correctly located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft

If 1 is OK, 2 would probably be corrected by reinstalling.
It should do, but doesn't automatically follow - Acrobat predates Word 2003
and the new folder structure would not have been known at the time. I have
seen Acrobat installations put the add-in in C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE\STARTUP where Word will no longer automatically load it.
