Default Outline View - Outline Level pulldown does not format text

The Alt+Shift+Left/Right Arrow shortcuts work in this view to Promote/Demote
to/from heading levels.

Sorry, Suzanne, I should have said "style" (i.e. Heading 1, 2, 3), not
"formatting." Choosing the level from the Outline Level pull-down moves

the
text to the correct indentation but does not change the text style to

match
the style associated with the level. Using the promote and demote arrows
does change the style, and saves me doing it manually, which I like.

Are you talking about font/paragraph formatting? This is toggled by the

Show
Formatting button on the Outlining toolbar.
