Thanks Susan, that works fine.... and is a quick way to change the
formatting... is there a way to make this a perminent change? soon as i
update the TOC, it oicks up the style of the headers again....

TOC entries will pick up *direct* font formatting of headings. Make sure
that any bold headings have bold as part of the heading style (perhaps

is what you meant when you said "even though i have changed the style").
You
can then format the TOC styles independently of the heading styles. For a
start, select the whole TOC and press Ctrl+Spacebar to see if that makes a
difference.
