Default Act! 6 could not open Microsoft Word Version. Help!

Hi Marydoll

I've never used Act!, so I can't provide specific help.

Windows XP is an operating system. It's the thing that keeps track of your
files, and it includes some basic programs like Internet Explorer, Outlook
Express, Paint and WordPad.

Windows XP does not include Word (and no version of Windows ever has
included Word). Word is a separate application, often bought as part of the
Office Suite (which includes Word, and other things like Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint etc).

If Word is otherwise working OK on your machine, then you should tell Act!
to use Word, and not Windows. I don't know Act!, so I can't tell you how to
to this. But I see that there are on-line Discussion Groups on the
www.act.com site, so you might ask an Act user there.

Hope this helps.

I'm on MS windows XP which was already installed on my laptop at time of
purchase over 2 years ago, but when I'm trying to create a template on my
recently purchased ACT! 6 but error messages come up as

"Unknown ProductVersion Major in C:PROGRAM~1\MICROS~2|OFFICE
11|WINWORD.EXE"

"Could not determine MS word version" - Why not as I've specified the word
processor as Windows XP?

"ACT could not open your word processor. This may be as a result of
inadequate security permissions in Windows Microsoft Word 2000 or
2002(XP)" -
There are no security restrictions that I'm aware of!

Word works perfectly otherwise.

Can anyone help me correct this please and get my ACT! 6 and XP working
together! I need easy steps as I'm no expert!

Thx
