Default How to put in a header with Microsoft Office Word 2007

Within a manuscript, where your name, title of book and page number goes on
the top right hand side of every page except the very first one which shows
your details, book title etc. I have been advised to use a header for this
information so that the information does not move if more text is added
within the main body of the manuscript.

I am using Microsoft Office Word 2007. I would like complete instructions
on how you go about putting this in with the required information on each
page.

At the moment, when I bring up the header, it automatically brings up a
footer as well, which is fine because the line of each still gives me the
correct margin. I can also manage to put the relevant information in the
header.

The problem arises when I try to put the cursor below the header, it
automatically puts the cursor in the footer which I do not require. I
require the cursor to go directly into the manuscript text directly below
the header so I can then carry on with the writings below the header.

Also, when I bring up the header which brings up the footer as well
automatically, the first page of the manuscript which has all my details on
along with the book title etc. The header and footer also appears here.
This I do not want. This page I want with no header or footer showing.

In Microsoft Office Word 2007 where the header and footer are shown, in my
case it is showing with a blue broken line all the way across the top for
the header and all the way below the bottom for the footer. I just wanted
to know when the manuscript is eventually printed out, does this line show?
Should I choose a different line for the header and footer other than the
blue broken line?

As I say, I have not found this out yet and how to go about making this nice
and simple within the manuscript. If anybody could tell me how to do this
properly, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
