Default Putting a pdf file into a word document

You don't need a 'converter' to insert a PDF file as an object (bearing in
mind that objects cannot span pages). You need Acrobat Reader version 7.

If you want to *edit* the PDF document, you need OCR software and the type
that does a decent job will not be free - Finereader 8 would be my choice.

Sorry, aalaan, I can't give you a recommendation. I played with a
couple a few years ago on a test machine, decided that copying and
pasting was probably just as effective for what I needed, and gave up.

You might try http://www.download.com/. I've generally found the
editor's reviews there to be useful in sorting out the wheat from the
chaff.

Thanks.

Can you recommend one particular converter that is free of charge
and has no bugs/viruses?

Hi aalaan

You can use a PDF to Word converter (try
http://www.google.com.au/search?sour...t+pdf+to+word).

Or, you can just copy the text from (eg) Adobe Reader and then
paste into a Word document.

In either case, what you get depends on how the original PDF file
was created in the first place and will probably need cleaning up.

Hope this helps.

Hi all.

Word 2000 (XP home). Is there an easy way to bring in a pdf file
to a Word document (or convert one) so that all the text
formatting is preserved?

TIA
