Default Microsoft Word 2010 Beta doesnt recognise old word files immed

I am not quite sure what you mean when you say "try and link to winword"
Are you clicking on the Browse button in the Open with dialog and navigating
to the Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14 folder and selecting
Winword.exe?

Hope this helps.

Doug, thank you for responding.

I've tried doing this but it makes no difference. I'm really struggling
with
this. It's odd that I seem to be one of the few people who have this
problem.

I'm not sure why but when i try and link it to winword, i only get the
option open with "Microsoft Office 2010 Component"... could this be where
things are going wrong?

Thanks

Dan
