Word may be treating the font as a "decorative" (i.e., symbol) font, like
Wingdings or Symbol. If that's the case, there's no solution except to
modify the font to remove the "decorative" flag (which requires a font
editor). If this happens in only one document, it's a sign of document
corruption; see
