It looks like Telenet has
migrated its newsgroup servers, which means that users will need to
update their newsreader settings in order to continue using the Telenet newsgroup service.
To do this, you will need to
change the address of the news server from either
news.telenet.be or
newsbin.telenet.be to
newsgroups.telenet.be. Additionally, you will need to
disable authentication on this news server.
If you're not sure how to
update your newsreader settings, you may want to
consult the documentation or help files for your specific newsreader software.
- Open your newsreader software.
- Locate the settings or options menu.
- Find the news server settings.
- Change the news server address to newsgroups.telenet.be.
- Disable authentication on the news server.
Note: If you are using
PHP Code:
macro or Visual Basic code
to access the Telenet newsgroup service, you will also need to update your code to reflect the new server address and authentication settings.
