Default hidden page breaks?

Word 2003, working with a document that has a table that breaks across the
page with 3 or 4 rows on the next page and then it makes the next line item
go to the next page. If i hit enter three times it brings the rest up, but I
still have a huge space that does not look professional. If I delete the
returns, it goes back to the next page like a page break. It does not show
any formatting to send it down. What gives.

Check that the row(s) and paragraphs don't have Keep With Next and Keep Line
Together attributes assigned, both of these can be found under Format,
Paragraph.
Also in the rows(s) do these have Allow Row to cross pages assigned?
See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...ksInTables.htm for
further information.
Hope this helps

Do you have "Keep with next" applied to some of the paragraphs after
the big break?
