Is there a way to set the file premissions in Word 2007 so a user can click
on an embedded file and have it open? I have word documents that are embedded as icons within another word Document. If I have the document as protected you cannot open the files by double clicking on them. Thanks. |

Insert a continuous break before and after the link and then protect
the section OTHER than the one that contains the file. There are more elegant ways to do it, but they require coding. This is the easiest way to handle areas of a protected doc that require to be left unprotected. When you protect the doc, be sure to click the SECTION link and uncheck that section link of the doc.
