In Word 2000 the datasource document showed up where you could see everything
as you were entering it (i.e. each field appeared under the other). In 2007 it shows up in an excel type format where you have to tab across. Is there any way to view it like the old format? It is much easier to see what you are doing that way. -- DeeJay |

The type of data editing form that Word displays depends on the data source.
In Word 2000, when you created a data source from within Word's MailMerge function, the data source would be saved as a table within a Word document. If you connect to a data source in that format in Word 2007 and try to edit it within the mailmerge Edit Recipients dialog, you should see the same type of data form as you had in Word 2000. However, in Word 2002 and later, when you create a data source within Word's Mailmerge function, the data source is saved as a special type of Access/Jet .mdb file. If you connect to a data source in that format in Word 2007 and try to edit it, you see the excel type format you mention. If you really want the old layout, you would have to convert your data back to a format that would cause Word to use the old dialog box. I don't think that using any of the older Word commands (e.g. via the equivalent of Tools-Customize) changes that. If you really wanted to go back, there are a couple of ways you could go, depending on how many columns you actually have in your data sources, how many sources you would need to convert, etc. Peter Jamieson http://www.shetlandtimes.co.uk/shop/...?productid=166 On 24/05/2010 16:14, dja wrote: In Word 2000 the datasource document showed up where you could see everything as you were entering it (i.e. each field appeared under the other).
