Somewhat unsurprisingly, I've been able to waste 2 hours of my life clicking
a load of options on and off and eventually found a way to stop this occuring
in Word.

For anyone who doesn't think that the answer is to take a big plank and
whallop your monitor with it until Word does what you actually want it to do
the answer to my issue was to go to Tools/Options/View tab and to uncheck the
'Field Codes' option box.

When I swith to Reading Layout, I see the document as I prescribed it to be
shown - as an Icon with the text "VBA Example 1.xls" displayed AND it prints
properly but this scenario is of no use to me as others are going to view the
document in Page Layout view...

I'm working with Word 2003 SP3 and don't have the will to get angry with it
today, so if you can't help so be it but any help would be greatly
appreciated as always!!!
