When I create a numbered list (roman numeral or regular numbers) and then
save my work, the display temporarily changes all roman numbers to IV. Then when I scroll so this text is off screen and return to it, they are correct. I assume Word has saved my work correctly, but this is disconcerting to see on screen. |

Make sure that "Automatically update document styles" is cleared in
ToolsTemplates and Add-Ins. Also, make sure that you apply numbering via a style. You can use a style from the List Number series: Hold SHIFT as you click the arrow next to the Style box on the Formatting toolbar and locate the List Number style. Click it to apply it to text. Use the Modify Style dialog box to change numbering formatting and indents, if required. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Rich Sal JAX" Rich Sal wrote in message ...
