After merging a document and saving to a new location, why doesn't the
file/pathname update in the footers? Can you tell me how to do this or am I out of luck and have to replace all footers in all sections. -- Mona Webb |

Hi ?B?TW9uYSBXZWJi?=,
After merging a document and saving to a new location, why doesn't the file/pathname update in the footers? Can you tell me how to do this or am I out of luck and have to replace all footers in all sections. It's unclear what you mean by "merging a document"? But have you tried (for example) switching into Print Preview? Fields in the headers/footers will generally update when you print, or switch into/out of a "Print" view. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=832897 "The FILENAME field
does not automatically update when you open a document in Word 2002 or Word 2003".
