Anyone know if Word supports making templates that allow a user to input in
some areas while leaving others protected? TIA, Chris |

The purpose of a template is so that the original format can be used over
and over again with individual modifications made to copies of the template. An example of a template in paper form, is the "While You Were Out" pad of paper. Each new "document" is created and then filled in. What you are describing is a protected form. See

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help.
