Default Document Protection

I am creating a form in Word 2003 and am now trying to protect it. However,
when I go to protect it, the button "Yes, Start Enforcing Protection" is
grayed out. Also my lock button is grayed out. What do I need to do?

Have you checked the box for "Editing restrictions" and selected "Filling in
forms"? If your document contains only one section, it's much easier (and
preferable) just to use the Protect Document (padlock) button on the Forms
toolbar.

Does your form contain ActiveX controls (from the Controls Toolbox) as well
as form fields from the Forms toolbar? Have you selected

My form does contain ActiveX check boxes. I'm in the process of replacing
those with the boxes in the Form toolbar. I have checked "Editing
restrictions" and selected "Filling in Forms". "Yes, Start Enforcing
Protection" is still grayed out.
I also tried using the plain padlock on the toolbar, but it is grayed out too.
