When I attempt to save a document I just typed in Word 07, the program
crashes and I loose my entire document. I can't find the backup where it was
supposedly saved every 5 minutes.

No version of Word has ever saved a backup of the document every five

Word can however save auto-recover information which *may* be available to
recover the document in the event of a crash.

Word 2007 should not be crashing when you save a document, so you need to
investigate why it is doing that.

should help. My guess is a corrupt template or incompatible add-in.
