Default How do I purge the Font history on Word?

I HATE the way Word keeps these things. I play with Fonts for a special
document and have to contend with the funky Font list at the top in
subsequent sessions.

Hi Bill,

You didn't mention the version of Word, but the Font MRU (most recently used list) can be turned off with a registry change using
Words Support.dot template
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820917/en-us?FR=1
or manually in the registry under method 2 of the article here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/199785/en-us?FR=1
(In the registry listing where it shows \9.0\ for Word 2000, Word 2003 would be \11.0\

Copy the following to Notepad and save it as FontListOff.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Options]
"NoFontMRUList"="1"

Copy the following to Notepad and save it as FontListOn.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Options]
"NoFontMRUList"="0"

You can then merge the relevant file with the registry to switch the font
list off and on to clear the recent list.
