So, for no good reason, when I press ctrl+shift+backspace...nothing happens.
I used to be able to use it to select sections of text to delete--but no more. I know I can still use the delete button, but apparently I used backspace a lot . My hands keep doing it automatically. And what happens is: nothing. The selected text just becomes deselected. Any ideas on what the heck I did and how I can get it back? Thanks! |

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Edit | check the "Typing
replaces selection" box | OK. Kate wrote: So, for no good reason, when I press ctrl+shift+backspace...nothing happens. I used to be able to use it to select sections of text to delete--but no more. THANK YOU!! It worked. Thank GOD. Out of curiousity... do you know what may
have made that box unchecked? I didn't change it myself... Thanks again. "garfield-n-odie [MVP]" wrote: In Word, click on Tools | Options | Edit | check the "Typing replaces selection" box | OK. Probably a stray macro in a poorly written Add-In. When macros are recorded
that use dialog boxes, they record every setting in the dialog box, not just the ones that the user changed. So if someone records a macro and has that setting, it can get transferred to your system when the macro is run. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome!
