In my old version of Word I would right click a file in order to delete it -
then it would ask me confirm that I wanted to delete it. My new version does
not do this and I keep accidently deleting files I intend to simply rename
(the option that is just below "delete" when you right click a file. I
can't find a way to change this!

In Windows, right-click on Recycle Bin, left-click on Properties
| Global tab, uncheck the "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin"
box | check the "Display delete confirmation dialog" box | OK.

thanks for the help - I can't access my recycle bin at work - they lock us out *sigh* but at least I know exactly what to complaint about to my IT!
