Default How do I darken the footers in my document so they aren't gray?

The footers automatically gray - or lighten - when I return to the body of my
document. I want the footer to appear as dark as the text in the body of my
document. How can I accomplish this?

In Print Layout view, you can't. When the body text is active, the headers
and footers are dimmed, and vice versa. There's no way to turn that off.

You can use Print Preview to look at the document as it will print.
