I have a document with the page number in the footer. However, one of the
pages changes from portrait layout to landscape layout. On this page, the incorrect number is shown, but the correct number is shown on all the pages thereafter. I tried to just change that footer from the actual page number autotext to just typing in the number, but then this changes all of the footers on the proceeding pages. Help? How can i fix this? |

In the landscape section, use Format Page Number to see if there is a "Start
at" value instead of "Continue from previous section." -- Suzanne S. I have already done that, and it says "Start at: 7" which is the page i need,
but then it puts an 8 as the page number. So i tried to change it to "Start at: 6" but then it put a 6. why is this happening? "Suzanne S. Make sure the section break before the page is a next page (not odd or even)

Don't tell it to "Start at" anything; change it to "Continue from previous
section" (assuming the previous section ended with 6). But what appears to be happening is that the page is being defined as an even page. Check the section start type (Layout tab of Page Setup) and make sure that it's "New Page" and not "Even Page." Word can do odd things to section breaks when you change page orientation, though it's much more common for it to make the new page an odd page. -- Suzanne S.
