How do I make it so footnotes/endnotes appear horizontally (1. 2. 3.) instead
of the vertical default? |

There's no practical way to do this in Word. You can use tabs and hidden
paragraph marks to combine several short notes on the same line, but Word will still allow just as much space for the notes as if they had appeared one below the other. -- Suzanne S. Score yet another one for FrameMaker ... run-in paragraph is an option
in any paragraph style (intended for run-in side heads, of course), and it actually works for running footnotes together! On Jul 24, 3:20 pm, "Suzanne S.
