I was preparing a document of minutes of a Boarfd meeting and inadvertantly
erased it. How can I, if possible, regain this document? |

Define 'erased'. If you deleted the text then saved and closed it is gone.
If you deleted the file from the hard drive, if it is not in the recycle bin it is gone (though some file recovery software *may* be able to get it back). If you never saved the document in the first place, it is gone. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org registrar wrote: I was preparing a document of minutes of a Boarfd meeting and inadvertantly erased it. By 'erased' I mean that when I click on the document name on the desktop it
is blank. The sequence of events was that I was working on the document. My finger struck a key (I don't know which one) but a blank page appeared. Subsequently, a message asked if I wanted to save the document and I clicked the 'yes' promp. Can you suggest the name of a software that could aid the recovery? I am working with mocrosoft word 2007. "Graham Mayor" wrote: Define 'erased'. If you deleted the text then saved and closed it is gone. If you click the document name on the desktop and an empty document opens,
you have deleted the text content and saved an emptry document. If you don't have Word configured to create backup files (Word Options Advanced Save) and there is thus no backup file also on the desktop, the text is beyond recovery. Had you not closed the document when the blank page issue arose you could have used undo to restore the document. No longer! -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org registrar wrote: By 'erased' I mean that when I click on the document name on the desktop it is blank.
