Hello
I have an old document which I want to make an addition to. The surcharge is in a new format and a completely different design. I do not want to change the old document and its format, but I would like to change the surcharge on the next page to be in the new format. How do I do this smartest? The actual surcharge is a separate template that I want to import. Thank you |

Surcharge? What do you mean by that in this context?

Addendum, appendix, addition. He says he wants to make an "addition" to an
old document, apparently by appending another document. Since it seems to be based on a different template, however, this may be tricky. -- Suzanne S. You can maintain document-level formatting (paper size and orientation,
margins, header/footer, number of columns, etc.) by inserting a section break at the end of the target document AND the source document and then using Insert | File (or, in Word 2007, Insert | Text | Object | Text from File). If the source document uses styles that are in use in the target document and formatted differently, the text in the inserted document will take on the formatting of the target document. A better approach in this situation, if it's suitable for you, is to PDF both documents and then combine them. -- Suzanne S.
