Default Formatting In Unprotected Section of Template

Good morning,

In Office 2003 you were able to add bullets in an unprotected section of a
template - now, with 2007, this option is no longer available. Any other
suggestions? - I have used the Insert Symbol and Alt 0149 but is there
another way?
Thank you,
Jeanne

In an unprotected section of a protected document, you can press
Ctrl+Shift+L to quickly apply the List Bullet style to the selected
paragraphs.

So-called quick styles can be applied via the Styles box on the Home tab.

Also note that you can apply any style via the Style box which you can add
to the Quick Access Toolbar.
