Default Word document from email

OK here goes..never done this ...obviously very techno bereft. Problem is I
typed a survey from a word document attached to an email and saved the
changes to it but I didn't 'save as' a file name. Now I can't find it....not
in Recent Items...where is it?

It's probably in your temporary files folder.

Go back an e-mail that also has a document in it (preferably a different
document than the one you're looking for). Open it from the e-mail and then
activate the Save As function -- BUT DON'T COMPLETE THE SAVE. Just hit Save
As and look at the directory that it wants to save the document to. Write
down the full address of this directory.

Then go to My Computer and navigate to the temporary folder shown in the
Save As dialog.

If you can't find some of the folders in the path, they might be hidden
folders. In that case you'll need to go to your Folder Options and change the
options so you can see hidden files. Then go hunting again. If you haven't
shut down, you may luck out and find your file.

I hope this helps.

You should never open Word attachments directly from e-mail - however it
*may* be possible to recover your changes. See
